Flint is campaigning on a platform of expanded trades education and opportunity along with making Montana affordable again
Butte, Montana – Today, Montana’s Carpenters Union Local 82 endorsed Republican congressional candidate for Western Montana, retired Army Lt. Colonel Aaron Flint, during a construction site tour of the new Bretz RV warehouse, citing Flint’s record supporting the trades and commitment to creating good-paying jobs and expanding skilled trades education. They were also joined by Montana’s Ironworkers Union who doubled down on Flint’s call for more investment in the skilled trades.
Flint joined both the ironworkers and carpenters union leaders and laborers at their job site in Butte to see their work firsthand and discuss how Congress can support apprenticeships and employers that invest in workforce training. Flint emphasized that growing Montana’s skilled workforce will help lower construction costs, grow the middle class and create more opportunities for Montanans.
“These are good paying jobs that China can’t steal and AI can’t replace. Montana needs more good-paying jobs that allow people to raise a family, start a small business, and build a future here at home,” said Flint. “I am committed to expanding apprenticeships and supporting employers that invest in trades education. That will strengthen our workforce, lower construction costs, and create more opportunities for Montana workers.”

A retired Army lieutenant colonel and fifth-generation Montanan, Flint spent more than 20 years in the Army National Guard and Army Reserve, including deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan, while also spending nearly 15 years as a local television and radio host between deployments. Drawing on that experience, Flint has repeatedly emphasized throughout his campaign the need to give young Montanans more ways to build rewarding, good-paying careers. His economic plan calls for greater investment in trade schools and apprenticeships to help Montanans develop valuable skills and build their futures in their communities.
