KALISPELL, MT — Today, Aaron Flint’s campaign released a new ad featuring Tammy Hall, a senior living on a fixed income who also cares for her disabled daughter. In the ad, Hall says Sam Forstag’s proposed Social Security tax increase would make it harder for her and her family to get by.
“When you’re a senior citizen living on a fixed income, every penny counts,” Hall says in the ad. “I can’t afford Sam Forstag’s tax increase. Can you?”
Fostag has publicly “criticized the Republican-led tax cuts in” H.R. 1 and vowed to repeal the bill, which includes tax relief on Social Security for Montana seniors. Forstag also proposes increasing the size of already bloated government programs, with the cost burden falling directly on the American taxpayer.
The ad contrasts Forstag’s position with Flint’s pledge to cut taxes and protect Social Security and Medicare.
“My opponent started his campaign by saying he would have voted against the largest tax cut in American history, which gave seniors much needed relief,” said Flint. “After paying into Social Security their entire working lives, seniors shouldn’t have to worry about the government taking another cut of their benefits. I’ll fight to protect Social Security and Medicare and help Montanans keep more of what they earn.”
